National Dialogue Co-chair Meets with FVP of South Sudan, Wins Assurances

Yesterday Monday, November 27th, 2017, National Dialogue Co-chair Hon Angelo Beda met with First Vice-president General Taban Deng Gai.  The First Vice-president promised that South Sudan’s transitional government is ready to implement all the resolutions and outcomes of the National Dialogue. The National Dialogue has been unable to get confirmation from opposition leaders that they would be prepared to do the same but has been in constant communication with most major opposition leaders in anticipation of the conference phase of the process.

Consultation Updates

Also yesterday, the Subcommittee for Juba Capital consulted with all members of parliament at National Legislative Assembly here in Juba.

In another consultation development, the Subcommittee for Central Equatoria has completed their consultations with stakeholders in Jubek State. They will move today to Trekeka State for their last leg of grassroots consultations.

The Subcommittee for Upper Nile is also doing well in their consultations. They have finished consultations in Malakal and Renk and are currently holding consultations in Maban.

The Subcommittee for Refugees and International Outreach continues their consultations with the urban refugees and diaspora in Nairobi yesterday at South Sudan Embassy. It will take them three 3 days to finish consultations with the urban refugees in Nairobi before they can move to consult with the refugees in the two 2 refugees camps in Kenya.
